Each HoneKrft discipline is a Block — a structured practice tool built on the same DART Method engine, with content, exercises, and reference materials specific to that craft. The platform is the constant. The craft is the variable.
ArtBlock is the first and currently live discipline on HoneKrft. It covers the full scope of visual arts fundamentals — from figure and anatomy through perspective, color, composition, storytelling, creature design, environments, hard surface, and pattern — across ten Gallimaufry categories and a six-column Fundamentals Primer.
The Gallimaufry is the randomised study engine — a set of discipline-specific subjects that the DART Method cycles can run against. The Fundamentals Primer is the sequential track: a structured progression through the foundational skills that every other category depends on. Both are included in the subscription.
The content library draws on canonical reference texts — Loomis, Bridgman, Hampton, Gurney, Norling, Scott Robertson, Marcos Mateu-Mestre — and is weighted to surface what the system learns you need most, rather than simply rotating randomly.
WritersBlock applies the DART Method to the full range of writing craft — from sentence-level observation and voice through scene construction, character, structure, and narrative. The same engine that runs ArtBlock runs WritersBlock; the content library and exercise framing are specific to writing.
The Gallimaufry for WritersBlock covers ten categories including Voice & Style, Scene & Setting, Dialogue, Point of View, Structure & Pacing, and Subtext. The Fundamentals Primer covers the foundational skills that every other category depends on — Observation & Attention, Sentence Craft, and more.
MusicBlock is built to work regardless of your instrument — or whether you play one at all. The DART Method applies to musical skill the same way it applies to drawing: attempt, identify the gap, study it specifically, apply it, then push past where reference can take you. Ear training, theory, composition, rhythm, and technique are all in scope.
MusicBlock is a personal investment. Music is a discipline where the path from enthusiasm to genuine skill has always been poorly mapped for self-directed learners — and where structured method makes the biggest difference.
FilmBlock is the convergence discipline — the place where visual language, narrative, and the decisions of the frame all come together. It will cover framing and composition, editing principles, staging, light as drama, the language of camera movement, and the creative decisions that separate a technically correct shot from one that lands.
FilmBlock is planned for later in the roadmap — after ArtBlock, WritersBlock, and MusicBlock are complete. It draws on skills from all of them.
AnimationBlock is built around the principles that underpin every animation tradition — the same foundations whether you're working in 2D, 3D, stop motion, or any other medium. The bouncing ball isn't just the first exercise in animation education because it's simple. It's first because it contains everything: squash and stretch, timing, spacing, anticipation, and the sense of weight that separates a moving object from a living one.
The DART Method applies here the same way it does in every other discipline. You attempt the motion first — with your current understanding of weight and timing — then study what the attempt reveals. The gap between what you intended and what you made is the curriculum. AnimationBlock gives that gap a name, a reference, and a next step.
AnimationBlock is planned for later in the roadmap, after the earlier disciplines are fully built. It shares DNA with FilmBlock — the two will inform each other — and draws on the visual foundations established in ArtBlock.
